Day 24 of Ania's Diary

We have had a much better night and Ania has been a lot better today. We have been out in the fields in the pouring rain and she has kept up with me.

I have sent for a book about acupressure so that I can help her as well. Now she is sleeping peacefully and her breathing is very good.
Tomorrow if Ania is still well I will attempt to get on and do some sewing. This has been sadly neglected since I have been home. Instead lots of research has been done to help Ania.

Day 23 of Ania's Diary

Hardly slept for the night. Ania's breathing was horrendous and her coughing not much better.
Today though is a different story, although gasping she has been like a puppy. We went to the woods where she proceeded to chase the squirrels and was way ahead of me. Usually she is dragging behind the others and we crawl along.

Now Ania is sleeping peacefully so we are hoping for a better night.

Day 22 of Ania's Diary

Ania went for her fourth acupuncture today which seemed to go well. As she was so poorly last week we have to wait and see how she is this week.
I am so afraid there will be no follow up appointment and that would be the end.

I was so sure that this was the answer to our prayers but now it is in doubt. I feel so despondent as our girl is the loveliest best tempered dog we have ever had.

Day 20 & 21 of Anias Diary

I could not believe it. Yesterday Ania was so much better, her breathing good. It was very cold but she met her friends in the field and even ran with them, gasping at the same time but oh so happy.
We then went on our walk with the vets group and again she loved it.
Today I took advantage of Ania being better and bathed and clipped her. It had to be fairly quick as the strain led to her laboured breathing. She is not a show Poodle so it does not matter and a carrier bag full of fur went into the compost bin which the worms love.

Page 19 of Ania's Diary

Ania has not been well at all and her breathing harsh. The cold easterly wind made her gasp this morning.
I have been trying to research how she got this terrible thing that could lead to a horrible death and by a sheer coincidence my friend who lost her Standard Poodle to it 10 years ago found that our dogs although bought in  a different part of the country had the same Great Grandparents.

We are going to research this further to see if there have been any more dogs with this. If we can at least save one dog in future years from having this we will do so.

Day 18 of Ania's Diary

Today Ania is much better. The weather has improved and the fog has lifted. In the early hours of this morning she was not good but got better as the day went on.
We have been for quite a slow walk and she is now exhausted and sleeping.

Yesterday I managed to trace one of Ania's brother and sister and a half brother who are all fighting fit. I am pleased that they have not got this terrible illness.

Too Tired Too Sew

Since returning home on Saturday I have not had the energy to take out my sewing machine.
All of my time is taken up with looking after Ania and trying to find something to help her.

I need to cut out the dog coats and get them sewn. I also have a smaller "fabric doggy poo" bag to sew, a fun one with fruit on. I will post it when I have finished it.

Day 16 & 17 of Ania's Diary

Ania slept after her acupuncture and was very tired. The coughing and choking stopped thank goodness.
For the past 2 days we have had thick fog and drizzle and this has not helped. Ania's breathing horrified 2 people that I met who described it as a roaring lion. I can only hope that this weather will clear and she will feel a little better.

Day 15 of Ania's Diary

What a night. Ania was so poorly, she could not stop coughing and gagging. I was quite despondent as this was the worst I had seen her.
This morning we went for her acupuncture. It was 11 days since her last one and that was too long. We will now have one a week.
I am totally exhausted and hoping for a better nights sleep tonight.

Also all of Ania's food will be soaked so there is no chance of her choking and I will spend the time making it myself.

Day 13 & 14 of Ania's Diary

Somehow I have managed to delete day 12 of Ania's Diary. I will leave that and start on yesterday and todays.
We came home from the caravan yesterday, Ania's breathing was terrible. 10 days with no acupuncture is not good and we will have to stay home and she will then have it weekly.
Today she is tired out but sleeping peacefully at the moment.
I am so tired listening to her but she is still up for going out and will not be left behind.

I will post tomorrow and let you know how the acupuncture goes

Exciting News

We visited a small town today and were talking to the owners of the pet shop. I asked if I could put my business card up and she very kindly saif if I would bring some bags in she would try and sell them for me. I will have to go home and when we come up to Devon again which wont be for a few weeks I shall bring some up with me. I am thrilled as that is a good start apart from selling them on the internet.

New bag

For some reason my posts have not come out properly. We are in a bad reception area for mobile broadband, even days with no television.
This is a photo of the smaller fabric doggy poo bag I have made which will retail at £5.99p.
The photo does not do it justice and when we get home I will re do it justice.
This is green with pink turtles and ideal for a little girl to put her bits and bobs in.

Day 11 of Ania's Diary

Oh dear, thing are going down hill. Last night Ania's breathing was not so good. Today she has been coughing a lot. This is the first time that Ania has shown any symptoms whilst away so it show she is getting worse.

We will return home at the weekend and she will have her next acupuncture on Monday. The vet is kindly coming in especially to do it so with our help we will get her through until then

Day 10 of Anias Diary.

Still not much to report. Ania is slowing down a little and has coughed a bit. It is a week since here acupuncture. I rang the vet this morning and Ania will have another session on Monday so we will return home at the weekend. We will stay home until Ania gets a lot better-we hope.

Day 8 & 9 of Anias Diary

Not much to report. Ania is doing very well and I am catching up on my sleep. The testing time will be when we return home. Her breathing here is brilliant. I don't know if it is the Devon air or the acupuncture working. She did have one nasty bout of choking but I took her out into the fresh air and thankfully it cleared.

Sewing

We woke up to a heavy frost this morning. I do my sewing in my caravan awning so even with the heating on it was still freezing. So today I have had to abandon the idea and revert to some knitting instead.

Day 7 of Ania's Diary

I took this photo this afternoon. This is Ania , the river is behind us in her favourite field in Lemonford. Today she has been wonderful, her breathing perfect.No one would believe that at home the many sleepless nights listening to her gasping for breath.
 Is it the acupuncture working or the different air?
We shall nor know this until we return home.

Day 6 of Anias Diary

Ania is doing well. The air is much cooler and fresher here and her breathing throughout the night was very quiet. We have had a day of sunshine and showers and we managed 3 walks without getting too wet.
The only thing with all this rain is the cows have been moved to higher ground which means we have three fields to walk across so it has been nice gentle strolls.

New Fabric Purchased & Abbys Birthday

A very busy day which is why I am late in writing this.
This morning I went to the fabric shop and they promised me that the fabric I bought would be completely waterproof. I have a bought a piece of red so now have to make 3 dog coats.

Today is Abbys 8th birthday. She is a rescue dog but I was lucky enough to be given her Pedigree so know the exact date of her birth. so today I will post a photo of Abby.

Day 5 Of Ania's Diary

The rain stopped and the dogs and I were able to go to our favourite Stover Park. Ania went crazy, barking and running around. Absolutely no good for here breathing but she was ecstatic.
We had a very good walk around without having to stop once for a drink.
Overnight Ania's breathing was good, the air up here is so different than at home. she has had a couple of choking fits today but I have been told by the vets how to help her through these.

Ania is now stretched out on the seats and is exhausted but a very happy dog.

New fabric

We arrived to a very wet caravan but I hope to be able to go to the fabric shop tomorrow. I need to get some waterproof fabric for the new dog coats which will not leak. Too see it in person will be better than sending away for it.
I look forward to getting my new sewing machine out while I am here and also have 3 new smaller versions of my fabric "doggy poo" bags to make. If it rains I will not mind too much as I can get busy and get on with the sewing.

Diary of Ania, Day 4

After her acupuncture Ania was extra tired but her breathing became much better.
She was so excited as today we have travelled up to Devon to our caravan which Ania loves.
The weather was so horrendous I would not have travelled had I realised it was going to be so bad.
We are beside a raging river but luckily the cows have been moved from the fields so we were able to have a very muddy walk.
Hopefully Ania will continue to be well while we are here. She usually breathes a lot better as the air is different from ours in Cornwall.

Day 3 of Ania's Diary

This morning Ania was so poorly, her breathing very bad and we crawled around the field. She coughed so badly and I was so pleased when we took her for her 2nd acupuncture session this afternoon. She came home had her dinner and is now fast asleep. We will see how she is tomorrow as we hope to go to the caravan tomorrow for a few days . In a different county her breathing is always better. It is so damp here in Cornwall.

Not only have I made dog treats for the dogs this morning I have managed to sew a new peg bag for myself. I cannot post a photo as my husband has yet to cut a piece of dowelling for it.

Bending down is difficult so I made a bag with a strap. I was fed up with putting my old peg bag on the line and it falling off and scattering pegs everywhere, even more bending.
Just thought I would post a photo of my crochet baby outfit that I designed myself. I have to do a little knitting or crochet each day to keep my hands moving, the arthritis gets worse at this time of the year.

Day 2 of Anias Diary

The sedative has worn off and Ania is better. Today it has rained non stop and the air quality is poor. Ania's breathing has not been good. She insists on coming out with the other 2 and although she struggles refuses to be left behind. tomorrow is her 2nd day of acupuncture.
I spent the morning making her favourite cheese biscuits only for her to turn her nose up at them.
At one time I had my own dog treat business and I still do belong to the Made in Cornwall scheme.

I love cooking and know that my own cooked food will be better for Ania.

Time for Sewing

I have been busy today. Back from the vets I found a piece of material with poodles on it so have cut it out in preparation to make a "doggy bag". No time to sew it though but will hopefully get around to it tomorrow.
I also need to make myself a new clothes peg bag and some new dog coats.
Each time I buy waterproof fabric on the web I spend hours making the dogs, 3 , coats and each time they leak badly.
We will go away soon I hope and they have a big fabric shop so I hope to go and look at it.

With our torrential rain I need waterproof coats not coats that leak.

Diary of Ania

Apart from my sewing I have decided to keep a diary of my very poorly Ania.

Last night she had a light sedative and off to the vets this morning to have the plaque taken off her teeth. There will be no more anaesthetic because of  her breathing. She was so good and her favourite vet nurse did it. She was a little poorly after that but has had a very short walk since and is now sleeping on her quilt in her favourite place on the landing.

A very busy day. Ania, my Standard Poodle has had her first acupuncture session. We will not know if it has been successful or not until she has had a couple of more . We should have been going away tomorrow but have delayed it as she will have another session on Wednesday. It will give me more time to cut some bags out to take with me to sew.

Today I have cut out 2 fabric "doggy poo" bags in a smaller size. Not everyone has multiple dogs like me so this is a smaller version for a smaller price. Check it out on my website Cornishk9crafts.yolasite.com.
2 days until the first acupuncture for my Standard Poodle. Nearly every night I wake up to her coughing and I am praying for a miracle. This dog loves the world with not a nasty bone in her body.

I should have been marketing my bags but Ania the Standard Poodle has not been too well. Her breathing has worsened. I have spent the last 2 weeks researching on the internet and found acupuncture could be a possible cure.
A few minutes ago I heard from my vet and she will have her first treatment on Friday morning.

As it will be very expensive and we are not insured I must get on and revamp my website . I need to get selling but there are not enough hours in the day.
